visual problems with mandrake 10.0

hello,

i have installed mandrake 10.0 on vmware 4.5 on my laptop (hp nx9010)

everything is running well... except for:

problem 1:
when i log out from the X, and go back to the console...

i get the screen doubled, with a resolution that is not readable
here's a screen shot of what i see...

www15.brinkster.com/lebtechs/pubpix/mandrake0.gif

am using these options for the x server.

generic monitor 1024x768 at 60hz
screen resolution 1024x768 at 24 bpp

problem 2:

if i leave the screen on the logon prompt for a while, it will freeze (i'll see a blank screen and cant do nothing about it except for ctrl+alt+ins (which is the same as ctrl+alt+del in vmware)

problem 3:

this is not actually a problem...
when the linux starts, i get the following startup screen...
how can i change the settings so that it will automatically into linux

www15.brinkster.com/lebtechs/pubpix/mandrake1.gif

any suggestions?

Thanks and Cheers

Dan

problem1, no idea.
problem 2: I guess its something with the powermanagment. May be he thinks the battery is low and switches off. Just check the energy control in the System > KDE control > laptop battery manegment. In extrem cases you need to switch this feature off.
problem 3. Manbdrakecontrollcenter > Systemstart > Bootmenu > reset the time to 0s then he will not wait for you to choose a kernel. Default is ten seconds.

hope I helped
Lars
