Virtual Ubuntu Satanic 666.4 AMD 64 version

My main O/S is Windows Xp 64 and i wish to run Ubuntu Satanic 666.4 AMD 64 version as a virtual machine inside it. Can it be done? I have tried and still continue to try Virtual PC 2007 and also Sun xVM VirtualBox 2.1.2 which are both made for a 64 bit PC. My PC is set up for as a 64 bit PC. This i know cause i built it. I cant even get the 32 bit version working. I D/L both of them from the Ubuntu Satanic site as an ISO then made them bootable via Magic ISO and still no luck. Is there any other virtual programs i can use? Has any one else had problems doing this with Satanic 666.4 amd64? I was able to get Ubuntu 8.04 LTS working in a virtual machine but i dont want that version, Any help would be great. Thanx in advance.

Realizing it's not exactly what you asked, there is an option provided to install that distro in windows just like you would install any other app. It may be worth a try. Look at the very bottom of this page:http://ubuntusatanic.org/livecd.php

you don't need to burn the iso and make it bootable, or make it bootable in any case.
Don't know how it works in VirtualPC, but in VirtualBox you can mount the iso for the allocated VM, and run it from there.

Have a look at the VBox' manual on the page :)

Ubuntu/Kubuntu shouldn't be a prob to run in virtualbox, it's supported by it. Probably will have to install the
additional guest items too though, after installing ubuntu, for better graphics/network/etc.

and yes, works, I've just set up Kubuntu myself on my vista within a VM :)

Ok thank you both for the info. I will try the suggestions and write here with the results.

Ok tried EVERYTHING!!!! Nothing works!!!! The 32 and 64 bit version of Ubuntu Satanic, for me cant be installed with Sun xVM VirtualBox. I can install Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS but thats it. Even enabling VT-x/AMD-v in Sun VB dont help. If any one has been able to install Ubuntu Satanic 666.4 amd64 inside Windows Xp sp2 x64 Corporate Edition using Sun xVM VirtualBox version 2.1.2, please PLEASE! let me know how you did it. Thank you
