Virtual machines running their own KVM's
How do I make a machine that can have multiple virtual machines using their own KVM independently?
For instance, I've installed Vbox on Windos7 and installed some virtual machines. How do I operate the virtual machines keyboard and mouse without loosing control of the host machines keyboard. Can I add another keyboard and mouse to my computer so I can run something like Myth TV in another room? |
Welcome to LQ.
I guess, you can use the same solution as used in Linux, having e.g. four Desktops and a 'Desktop selector'. This feature is a part of all major Desktop managers for *nix, KDE and Gnome to mention two examples. ( Try it out in one of your 'virtual Linux'.) The Desktops without a running Vbox keep their normal mouse and keyboard control. Just Google .. virtual desktops xp .. ..... |
In the case of VirtualBox you install the Guest Additions and you can then move seamlessly between host and guess without "losing" your keyboard or mouse.
