vim editor no color with .conf,.txt file


environment : centos 5
vim version : 6.3

The vim editor only highlight on in .sh file~
how to enable the syntax highlight in .conf and .txt file???

This may be a stupid question, but what syntax are you wishing to highlight? There's no generic form of a .conf or .txt file, as many different programs use files with those extensions. It isn't like a C source file, for example, where there are certain key words.

i was writing asterisk script on other server that syntax on every character such as ; {} ()..etc
but i copy those script to other server that the highlight function does not on.
