Viewing documents in 'List View'

I want all my Nautilus windows to open in List view. When I click View, View as list only that window will appear in list view and any new windows will appear as icons. How do I set the browser to permanently open in list view? By the way im using Nautilus on Fedora 5.

Open nautilus and go to:

Edit > Preferences

Then set

Default View
View new folders using: List View

That should do it.

PS Might be worth updating which distro you use in your LQ profile
