video/sound codecs and drivers where can i find them?


Hi,I just installed ubuntu 7.10 and I'm wondering where I can get the video and sound codecs and the drivers for my wifi card i have a dell inspiron e1505 with a dell wireless 1390 wlan mini card.if anyone can link em to me that would be awesome.And another question,I would be able to save it on my external harddrive and install it from my external harddrive to my ubuntu boot right?Thanks

I have no idea what the video is in that system, but you could probably get it from ubuntu by adding the restricted repository to your sources. As to audio, go to http://alsa-project.org and download alsa-driver-1.0.15. It should have the driver support you need (although I thought Ubuntu supported Dell directly).

ah I got my dell about a year ago when they didn't support ubuntu i believe and yeah it didn't support ATI video cards til recently.Thanks.if anyone else knows where to get the video drivers and can link me em that would be great.Thanks again
