Video Problem with Evga GeForce FX5500 in ubuntu 6.01

I have a Evga Nvidia Geforce FX550 2256MB (AGP) graphics card which I had to remove when I switched to Linux because i couldn't get one distribution to properly dectc it and configure XORG to use it properly.

Could some one please recommend a (AGP) card that they have used relatively hastle free with Linux with in the 100.00 to 250.00 price bracket which they have had fairilly low instance of compatibility issues with?

I've never had a problem with Matrox cards (G400/G450) on any distro I've used; G450 might still be on the market (don't expect 3D performance). My Ubuntu 6.06 system did not have a problem with the nVidia 6100 (after installing the driver). This however is onboard video.
