Video For Linux *** need explanation

Excuse me,
I am a beginner.
I have many inquires:

1)What is the rule of V4L in motion software for detecting images?I am in need to details in simple way of declaration, please.

2)UVC (USB video device class).. What is the meaning by saying it is a device class? I can't understand it's definition from Wikipedia.

3)Is any webcam support UVC, also supports V4L ?

Sorry for my bad.
:newbie:.
Thanks in advance.

As has been explained to you before:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...raries-879694/
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ion-sw-871546/

the 'rule' is however you set it up, and what software/libraries you're using

Doesn't get much simpler than the Wikipedia entry. And as others have suggested to you in the past, have you tried Google???

No, you're not. You're asking about motion detection/image capture. The 'rules' are whatever you make it..however you set it up, is how it will work.

UVC is a driver for different models of webcams. It has nothing to do with V4L. Again, Google can help you.
