Video Editing

I've heard that Linux is much better at video editing than any other OS.

What is the recommended video editor around here? In the past, I've used my school's iMac lab (OS 9) to use iMovie to edit my projects (basic stuff...)

can you point me to a program that will allow me to edit my latest video project?

I'm using Mandriva 10.1

Thank you,
-Brian

You can try kino, kdelive, LiVES, or Cinelerra. Cinelerra has limited video and audio codecs that it supports. You probably want to go with either kdelive or LiVES. I think LiVES is the best of them all, but I have not tried it.
