video drivers won't install
Hoping to brake the chains of windows. I find it to be a hard thing to do.I have tried mandrake 10.0 & red hat 9.0
both very nice hard to load video drivers I am using a ATI x800xt pro can someone help me understand how to do this.(Gigabyte mob, intel 3.0 gig, 1 gig ram). thanks |
Well I cannot speak about Mandrake but RHL9 is old and basically unsupported now. Red Hat ended support over a year and a half ago, and many third party support is no longer available. Choose something more modern, Fedora Core 4, CentOS-4.2, Mandriva Linux 2006 or any other supported version of Linux.
You can get almost any for the time it takes to download and create the installation media, or purchase for a small price. http://distrowatch.com/ http://shop.cheapbytes.com/cgi-bin/cart/index.html |

From what I know there are no drivers for ATI x800xt with acceleration for now. Without acceleration it should work, through.
