well i did do a restart after and its been fine so far but its intermittent anyhow so wont be for a while before i know for sure but thank you very much for the help.

How do you know all this stuff ? i learn a terminal command one day but have forgotten it and its syntax by the next day let alone where specific files are (like conf files etc) and what they do i just dont know if i can learn all this is so daunting. However windows is not an option any more so onwards we go.

I am using the Force for last 20 years ;-)

it might be related to compositing compton whatever is called i never used it and i suggest you turn that shit off there must be an option in desktop configuration i guess.

Im sorry to have to say that it didn't work Its been to long that iv been on this particular bug so iv gone back to cinnamon now. I do like kde as its a slick DE but on this particular lappy i just cant get past this video problem but if anyone has any other suggestions i would love to try them.

Now all i have to do is get past the problems i have on cinnamon which were the reason i left it in the first place (trackpad is disabled after sleep is the main one atm) but thats for another thread or two.
