ati video card drivers for linux
hi there,
linux and graphics cards can be fun. i use ati mostly but when it came to my linux box i chose nvidia. i chose nvidia because i heard they had better support than ati - which has since changed. i to at first had some issues as well. after figuring out and reading that the drivers both nvidia and ati provide aren't the best and that i should go the route of third party drivers instead. i couldn't find the exact link i used however this link is close: http://news.softpedia.com/news/How-t...-6-38740.shtml . the drivers provided by the manufactures do not take into account certain things, if i recall some of the requirements for the kernel.... anyway try getting your drivers from the rpm.livna.org site and i bet you get better results. you can get to the livna site by going here http://rpm.livna.org/rlowiki/.
