VFAT partition case-sensitive / wrong charset?
Hi,
when I set no iocharset in the fstab for my fat partition, it is case-insensitive (as it should be), but umlauts show up as boxes or question marks on linux. when I set the iocharset to utf8, the umlauts show up properly, but it is case-sensitive. how do i get both umlauts and case-insensitivity? What other charsets are there? (And besides, which one is the default that is used when i specify none?) |
Do you set 'iocharset=utf8' or 'utf8' in fstab. I've got the second and it seems to work fine (no umlauts though, just ñ and ú)

You were right, just utf8 does the trick. I had no idea that this is also possible. Now it works.
Thanks alot! |
Neither had I until I read it somewhere on the forum about 3 days ago!
You're welcome anyway. |
