Very Low Sound In Mandriva (a real problem)

hi i'm kind of new to mandriva (even if it's been 2 monthes i'm using it) and hen i play mp3 files i notice that the sound is very low .i checked the Kmi program and the sound is set as high as possible same thing with Amarok
i have the same problem in all sounds (youtube videos , system sounds ...)

run alsamixer from a terminal and max all of the settings

If you happen to be using Gnome, you can simply right-click the speaker icon on the menu bar and raise the volume. Or it that doesn't work, open up the Volume Control from that same icon.
