Hello, I downloaded and ran the nvidia drivers sh script and edited my xorg.conf file to use the "nvidia" rather than "nv" driver for my card.

When I'm running glxgears, I get an average of 1850-1900 FPS on a Geforce 2 and an athlonXP 2200.

How can I insure that I'm using the correct driver?

The reason I ask is because I assume I'm getting good performance (others were noted to only get 600 FPS without accelerated drivers), although I'm not currently seeing the nvidia logo that I was used to in previous installs.

my xorg.conf does not include the no logo option

if your xorg.conf is configured to be using the nvidia driver instead of nv then everything is working fine because if there was a problem, your xserver may not even start and you would get results of the error in your logs.

Excellent, thank you for the reply. I installed tux racer and got great performance. I tried booting one of my previous kernels and the X server failed to load. I'm sure that it's due to the kernel module for the nvidia card not loading. I'm now sure it's working properly.
