/var/log/boot.log is empty in RHEL5.5. How to enable the boot log?

Hi

I have some problem with the hardware RAID configuration and it throws some error messages during boot time. I need to verify the error by viewing the /var/log/boot.log file. But file /var/log/boot.log is empty.

Syslog configuration for boot log is given below

# cat /etc/syslog.conf |tail -2
# Save boot messages also to boot.log
local7.* /var/log/boot.log

Kindly help me out in configuring the boot time log.

Thanks and Regards
Rajiv
