Angry USRobotics v92 USB Modem Problem

Hi all

Wondered if you can help me with the following problem :-

I have SUSE Linux 8.2 Professional installed. I am trying to connect a USRobotics V92 External USB Faxmodem. The modem for some reason will not detect within Linux, no lights appear on the modem to say that it is found and no modems detected within Linux iteself. I have installed the modem onto a machine running Windows XP (Sorry !!!!!), it detects the modem and works fine.

I have checked the USB ports with a Zip drive on the Linux machine and each USB port detects the ZIP drive and displays within Linux meaning that the computer and modem are fully functional.

Wondered if anyone has any pointers for me as this is baffling.

Thanks in advance
