hai all
i m using fc6.i m new to Xlib program.first time i wrote a X lib program to create a window.i included these header files in my program.

#include <X11/Xlib.h>
#include<X11/Xutil.h>
#include<X11/keysym.h>
#include<X11/Xresource.h>
#include <assert.h>
#include <unistd.h>

i tried to compile this program using
$gcc -o c.out try.c -L/usr/X11R6/lib -lX11

i got the following errors.

/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so: undefined reference to `__ctype_toupper'
/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so: undefined reference to `__ctype_tolower'
/usr/X11R6/lib/libX11.so: undefined reference to `__ctype_b'
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

i checked for libX11.so /usr/X11R6/lib.its there.i don't know how to correct this error.
i tried the same program in another machine.i got the output.i didn't get any error.wt 2 do for that?

it may be because of a missing libX11-dev (or whatever-dev) package ?

first make sure you have the glibc-dev package installed, but that's not all, you'll also need to install a X11 related library developement package.

since i don't use fedora i can't tell you exactly the one, sorry.
