I'm having some problems due to upgrading Xorg and making fglrx (ati's driver) not working because of the upgrade.

When I've tried to re-install the ati-drivers was looking for the file :
/usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h which doesn't exsist.
I've used slackware packages to build the current 2.6.23.1-smp kernel, but it didn't have /usr/src/linux-2.6.23.1 built at all, so I've downloaded kernel 2.6.23.1 and unpacked it to /usr/src/linux-2.6.23.1 and created ln -s /usr/src/linux-2.6.23.1 /usr/src/linux.
I was expecting that /usr/src/linux/include/linux/version.h would exsists, but it doesn't.

What steps should I make in-order to create that file (so ATI installation would be succesful).

Not sure what you mean by built.

If you downloaded 2.6.23.1 from kernel.org, that file does not exist in the source code. It is generated at compile time.

Don't know much about slack but it is included in the slackware package: HTH.
