Using rsync to remedy ISO images?HELP!

What is rsync? I have the ISO image of a distro which does not match the md5sum. Someone told me it that the image can be remedied by using rsync.

What is this rsync and how do I use it to fix my ISO image?

Plz help the newbie!

Thanks

erm i'm not real sure, but as far as i understood, rsync is a way of actualising portage in gentoo..

so i don't think it can help recover a failed md5sum ..
only advice i can give you (cos i'm a noob too as i said) is to try dling it again .. maybe with another mirror ..

rsync will not fix a corrupt image ...
ie. it's not a magic wand you can wave over a file to fix it.

rsync is a network protocol/app capable of fast transfers

try looking for rsync on google/linux
