using linux and apache to run webserver out of home

I'm a complete newbie to linux but I need to set up a webserver out of my house and I don't want to use windows because that will limit connections. I currently have internet access and run it to 3 computers with windows xp. I am going to buy a fourth computer and install linux but I need to know if I can get access to the internet on my current network with the linux os or will I need a seperate connection? Or anything relevant that any expert could tell me about what I'm getting myself into?

Linux works just like windows in respect to how networking functions. No special line is needed and it uses tcp/ip protocol. As far as running a web server might I suggest using Ubuntu server edition. very easy to setup for a new person coming to linux. After you have used it for a while. I would suggest you move to something like slackware, or debian.

Why will it limit connections? The default IIS does I think (not sure, could be Access I'm thinking about) but you can always run Apache on Windows.
