Using internet on fedora

Hello Everyone!!!

I am using inrel c2d and just installed Fedora 9 on my pc. This is all i done at the lab where i am working on a project. My work expects me to work on linux. But i am unable to configure internet and this has hampered my work totally. As I remember I have not configured DHCP while installation. The next thing is that I am new to linux and hence need your help with proper details, also that in our lab there is already inernet connection working on windows xp on wired connection with HTTP. Whatever i told i have conveyed you all and expects you toreply as soon as possible.

So if the other machines are using wireless, is your machine using wireless as well? Or is this gonna use an ethernet connection? Can you elaborate on the hardware you have, how you're gonna or want to connect? More details get better replies, so we're not just guessing.

Intel c2d is a processor, not a NIC. Fedora 9 is not very mature, and you shouldn't expect it to work properly. We need to know what NIC (Network Interface Card) your laptop uses. We need to know especially which chip the card uses. 'Intel 3945 BG' is the name of a chip, used by many NIC manufacturers.

Try:

linux # lspci -vvv | less

and see what it prints to the screen.
