I'm at my wits end, any last suggestions before I just say "F it", copy all my XP files into my Linux partition, and then re-install XP into it's old partition (while trying not to screw up the Linux boot)?

Just a thought

You might try making a boot floppy for your Linux install (and a backup copy of your grub conf file) then re-installing XP. XP will most likely find all it's old settings and files. Then you will need to redo your grub setup so that Linux will boot again. I'm a Linux newbie but am competent with XP. Good luck.
