Using flashdrive for Mint 10?
I just got Mint 10 DLed and I'm ready to install. I was reading around and saw that a Live USB can be done. Can anyone tell me how to do that? I also wanted to install it to a PC that isn't ready yet, but I a saw one could make a USB drive work like an OS disk. Can anyone help me with that also. All the years I've worked with PCs, I never installed an OS off a flashdrive.

I see that you use Windows, so the easiest way to put a live system to USB is unetbootin.
If you want a "real" system on USB just boot from the install-medium with your USB device already connected and install it to the USB device. Keep in mind that you should install the bootloader to the USB, not your harddisk. |
Crap, I figured it out. I got my buddy to DL the wrong version. I got the OEM version and needed the Live version. I can't try it now. I just gotta get my machine up and running. No high-speed here, so I can't get the Live one.
