Question Using Evolution to send/receive hotmail

How do I get hotmail to send/receive using evolution?
Two articles found suggest this can be done simply.
Prior to this terminal operation, I used another terminal operation to get updates. When the updates were installed I restarted the system as instructed.
In trying the recomended method, I receive the message saying "Couldn't find package hotway"
My terminal input and the messages received are included:
david@david:~$ sudo apt-get install inetutils-inetd
[sudo] password for david:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
sdparm
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
The following NEW packages will be installed:
inetutils-inetd
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 107kB of archives.
After this operation, 233kB of additional disk space will be used.
Get:1 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/universe inetutils-inetd 2:1.6-3 [107kB]
Fetched 107kB in 2s (50.4kB/s)
Selecting previously deselected package inetutils-inetd.
(Reading database ... 157349 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking inetutils-inetd (from .../inetutils-inetd_2%3a1.6-3_i386.deb) ...
Processing triggers for ureadahead ...
ureadahead will be reprofiled on next reboot
Processing triggers for man-db ...
Setting up inetutils-inetd (2:1.6-3) ...
* Not starting internet superserver: no services enabled.

david@david:~$ sudo apt-get install hotway hotsmtp
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Couldn't find package hotway

Am I doing this correctly? Or are there new instructions on performing this task?
Thank you,

dfiggy

If I am not mistaken, Microsoft has sorta "broke" hotmail. With their new livemail services, they have conveniently changed the protocol that hotmail uses so that it will only work with their Windows Mail client.

Someone may have come up with a way around this, I'm not sure.

Good luck

M$-mail + Linux e-mail client — doesn't sound like a good combination.

Unhappy Hotmail may not work with Evolution

MTK358 may be correct saying Hotmail not suitable to work with Evolution. I hope someone has managed to make this idea work. I remember an episode with Windows Outlook last year when something changed and I could no longer use Hotmail with Outlook 2007 in Windows. I will investigate other methods to make using Evolution capable of sending and receiving email. Suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you,

Dfiggy

Unhappy Hotmail is not a good choice

All,

Thanks for considering my query about the possibility of getting Hotmail with Evolution. MS was successful in preventing this from happening. I'm still looking for another email possibility. It seems the best alternative for me will be to get another address from my current email provider to use with something like either Evolution or Thunderbird. I've gotten Thunderbird praises from friends who have used it for several years.

If you ever change your e-mail address, preferably choose a non-MS one.

MTK358,

Thank you for the headsup. MS doesn't need to do much to chase people away!
I'm going to check several others to see if they can be supported by Evolution which is supposed to be the new Outlook killer. A friend is reccomending Thunderbird rather than Evolution since he has used it for several years.

Have you tried the following:

Hope this helps everyone!
From memory this works just fine.
