Username & Password request Installing Ubunto-7.10
 

I am trying to install Ubuntu-7.10 from a CD i burned with the live CD ISO. However when i boot from the CD, it stop at a screen requesting username and password. I have not even installed the software as yet. Still just booting from the CD and I had chosen the option [Start or Install].

I try the CD in a newer computer and it boot without asking for username and password. How can I get it to boot without asking for username and password on the older machine?

As for your problem, there's nothing you can do to change the way a CD boots (AFAIK, anyway). Try entering a username and password and post the results.

Every time I have tried ubuntu 7.10 livecd it logs in by itself and even if you kill x and shows a login screen, user logins in 10 seconds
