usermod and groupadd

While working with miniGUI I realize that in console i could work just as a root.

well, the problem was that the IAL couldn't init the mouse

after a while I finally get it. the problem was /dev/psaux

so i make a new group
groupadd -g 505 minigui

and changed the group of the device /dev/psaux
chgrp -c minigui /dev/psaux

add myself in a group
usermod -G medream,minigui,audio medream

changed the permissions of the device
chmod -c g+wr /dev/psaux

ls -l > crw-rw---- 1 root minigui 10, 1 Oct 5 10:02 /dev/psaux

if I understand the teory, the users in a group and the owner should have r/w permissions?

but I haven't resolved the problem with this recipe!!!!

For minigui to work I changed permission to:
chmod -c og+wr /dev/psaux

And that's the catch that i don't understand

Could someone explain me what I've done wrong??

thx
