UserID composed of Korean characters not recognized in RHEL

tested this on RHEL ES 4 Update 4.

But Korean characters could not be used for user name.

Using the command line:
$useradd 김진호
The system responded with the message "The "김진호" is not a valid user name."
Using the GUI too:
The system responded with the message "Please use ASCII characters."

Is any support for Korean characters by RHEL exists ?

How to enable/build such support ?

Since nobody knowledgeable answers...

I'd guess that the korean characters are unicode. Try a google search with unicode, boot and kernel in the http://www.google.com/linux domain. Good luck.
