User profiles

I'm new to Linux and know just about nothing. One question on my homework is about the order in which files are executed. I've tried searching for hours, and I don't know where to find this information. Can you guys help or point me in the right direction?

The question is:

List the order in which the .bashrc, /etc/profile, /etc/bashrc and .bash_profile user profiles files are executed in Linux.

Take a look at /etc/inittab

Also, search Google using "linux boot" and "linux init"

Another solution would be to put a line in each file that prints the name of the file. That said, I think reading the manpage is a much better idea.
