It sounds like it could be something like mailman. What were the full commands being run?

Hi.

Python is a programming language (see google("python", lucky=true) -> python.org -> "what is python?")); Though it's interpreted and highly introspective (which in some cases is a really good thing but often makes it slower than C/C++ by a factor between 1 and 100), it's used for some quite real-world stuff: Gentoo's package management system, Zope and mailman to name a few. It's also used by companies such as Zope corporation (obviously), Google, Nasa, and Industrial Light and Magic.

One of the things I especially like about python is that it's very readable (unless you obfuscate it on purpose), it's easy to learn yet it scales well (known as the one-size-fits-all principle). Oh, and you can extend it with modules written in C (or extern "C" { ... })

For more info, see python.org
