user cdrom access
I am new to Linux. I am using Slackware 9.1. When I log in as root, and run KDE I can play a music CD using KsCD. However, when I log in as a myuser (not root), I get this message "CD-ROM read or access error (or no audio disc in drive. Please make sure you have access permission to /dev/cdrom/". In response, I created a cdrom group and added root and myuser as members. I then added cdrom as the group for for /dev/cdrom. the group has rwx permissions, so I don't know why I'm still getting the above error message. I also change the group to cdrom for /mnt/cdrom. My fstab file reads /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom noauto, owner,ro 0 0. Any ideas?
