USB Wlan Adapter detected in VirtualBox Kali Linux but not working

After hours of searching the internet I finally got to the state where in the VirtualBox in Kali Linux I got my USB WLan Adapter Linksys AE2500 detected.
However when I run ifconfig I cannot see my WLan Adapter. It's properly working on the host (Windows 7x64). I also cannot see the option WiFi-Connections just Wired Connection in the task bar which implies that my usb wlan adapter is not working in the Virtual Machine in Kali Linux.

What can I do now?

What is the wireless chipset in the device?

This article indicates that Linksys's support for that device on Linux is poor or nonexistant.

The Chipset is Linksys AE2500. If there is no way to make it work on Kali Linux I consider buying a new one. But I would rather find a solution
