Usb wifi stick turn into router for 3ds use

Is it possible to make my usb wifi drive into something that transmits signal to my 3ds?

I've gotten it to connect a little bit, I think, the 3ds is able to detect an access point but it can't seem to connect all the way,

the connection can't be adhoc and the usb is a linksys WUSB54GC i believe

thanks in advance for any help
