Question USB SCSI hard Drives

I have just purchased a new USB SCSI hard drive which i intend to use as a dual boot, i used Partition Magic to create an exact copy of my WinXP and was left with 40Gb spare petition.
I soon realised i cant boot windows XP for some unknown reason.
But if i use the spare petition for Mandriva will that boot after install on the spare petition?

Maybe. We'd have to know the exact reason it doesn't boot xp.

Is the usb scsi sold as being bootable or linux supported.

Before you do anything else: do you have a backup of your data on the XP partition? Save your folders first!

Get any Linux "Live CD" (for live Mandrivia look at: http://www.linuxcentral.com/catalog/...=C1Cm2CeFly2CR ).

Boot from it, and with any luck it should recognise your XP disk and allow you access to your folders on it.

Once that done, you can start diagnosing the XP booting problem. What exactly do you see when you boot the machine?
