usb scanner setup

I have an HP scanjet 3970 usb scanner. It didn't get autodetected on RH9 install like my usb printer so nicely did. Didn't find anything useful on HP support. I have no idea where to even start.

Your scanner is not supported by sane, which means there is no driver written for it as yet (see this page).

According to that page, you could try the HP 3570 driver.

The 3570 isn't supported either, oh well guess I'm out of luck. Thanks for the info anyway.
