finding a driver for your usb modem is very hard, it took me some time to find me my drivers. IF you're modems hardware is of the ECI company i can give you drivers. Or you have to mail your ISP or modem company and ask if they have linux drivers.. it's not really support by linux itself..

USB modems either work or they don't under Linux - if your modem has a slot for a network cable (may be under a sticker), I would definitely consider installing a network card in your pc and connecting that way - it's much much easier to set up.

hi,
I am also trying to install the modem, still have problems but I can share what ever info i have:

1) Installing/configuring the driver
a. download the driver from http://eciadsl.flashtux.org/download...ode-cvs.tar.gz

b. untar it and run the configuration script (refer README/INSTALL for more details.

c. provide the following details when prompted for Aztech 100u modem:
Vid1/Pid1 : 0509 / 0801
Vid2/Pid2 : 0915 / 0802
VPI/VCI : 0/32

Questions I dont have answers:
a) I am not sure of the "mode" we have to sellect out of
- VCM_RCF2364
- LLC_RCF2364
- LLC_SNAP_RFC1483_BRIDGED_ETH_NO_FCS
- VCM_RFC_1483_BRIDGED_ETH
- LLC_RFC1483_ROUTED_IP
- VCM_FRC1483_ROUTED_IP

DSL Dishnet shows that on win98 as" RFC 2364 PPPoATM NULL Encapulation" & modulatio "G.Lite" & VPI/VCI=0/32

b) i am tring with .bin files, if any one has tried and working kindly post the same hear or your can send mail to me sriniavas_a@integramicro.com.

i've been trying to use thesame driver for a fujitsu fdx310 modem under mandrake 9.1. i can get startmodem to work, but mandrake does not recognise my modem. so basically in the terminal it says i'm connected, but no other application acknowledges this. how can i configure mandrake to recognise the modem now that the drivers are installed?

i use the same modem driver too.. i'm using it on slackware and it works.. Sometimes it just doesn't want to connect and other times it starts from the first time.. but in slackware it works without configuring anything else it uses the ppp0 port...
