USB modem

hello, i was unable to configure my modem (creative modemblaster internal)
on my linux system (am running kernel 2.2.16-22), now i got an external
modem but with USB..can you help me configure it? thanks

are you sure it's not a winmodem too?

you should have gotten a serial external modem

Trust me, dont even try configuring a USB modem under Linux. I asked multiple forums many times with no luck. I did tons of research, no luck. I just ended up using a ethernet cable instead of the USB cable for my cable modem.

Hi, the trouble may lie with your kernel version. It may be that your modem requires a 2.4 kernel. I'm using suse 7.2 (2.4.4 kernel) with a usb Actiontec Call Waiting modem.D Hope this helps.

Bruce, ok i take your advice and have decided to get an external serial modem! i did upgrade my kernel (with great difficulty though!), am now running 2.4.17 but still USB does not work.
and David, sorry about that inadvertent double wont happen again.
