USB Linux distro suggestions
looking into having one to carry around but haven't really found one that tickles my fancy.
USB drive's a measly 512MB. I'm poor, don't hate me :) so I can't slap Fedora or Ubuntu in it. tried: DSL. Puppy, and some pupplets, for some reason Firefox crashes in some websites. TinyMe, mainly because for the love of god I can't figure out how to get firefox installed, even with Synaptic... right now, I'm booting up Wolvix to give it a go. any suggestions? |
I'D Stick With Puppy
I have had real good luck with Puppy but I admit, their package management regima requires a bit of a learning curve. Download the Opera browser from Pup-get or whatever it is and go from there.
Good luck, Michael |
anyone else have suggestions?
Currently fiddling with SLAX and so far I like the look and speed of it. Though getting the installer files is a bit of a pain since it doesn't use Slackwares default application type thingy and not much stuff on the official/approved user submitted modules. I only want firefox 3 current default is konqueror, and the official module for firefox is version 2. :( I'm having a ball configuring flash too. and WINE. |
