usb hdd luks/dmcrypt volume doesn't mount

I'm using debian stable, and formatted an external usb drive to hold an NTFS & ext3 partitions, the latter encrypted with luks/dmcrypt.

Up to a two days ago, whenever I plugged in the drive nautilus would ask for the passphrase and automount the ext3 partition.

Now this isn't working, and /media shows the volume name but no files inside.

Any suggestons?

TIA
