usb flash drive
Hello,
I have a small Asus eeePC that runs a modifid version of debian. I cannot see the content of my usb flash drive. when i put it into the usb nothing happens. the mouse and other peripherals work just fine, could you please tell me what to do? Thanks! |
What exactly do you expect it to do? Did you mount the drive?

I am pretty sure he wants to mount it and read write.
Do any other flash drives work? Do you know if your logon has rights to mount removable devices? If not mount it with command line command. |
Here's one way to investigate it if it's not automounting:
1. From a terminal, run dmesg as root. Scroll the output of dmesg to see whether your computer is actually seeing the flash drive. If it is, the dmesg output will tell you how your computer is seeing the flash drive. 2. Add the flashdrive to your fstab and mount it like a regular drive. Here's a longer description I wrote about this a long time ago when I was figuring out how to mount my podplayer. http://www.pineviewfarm.net/weblog/?p=5133 It has a lot of links to explain what I just said. I'm no expert. I just made my mistakes earlier than some other persons. |
