USB doesn't work

I have fedora 4 in my machine. I used to connect USB to my computer and it worked fine but now I have tried different kind of USBs but I don't see anything. I think I have disabled devoted service in service configuration. But this is just a guess.
I would be glad if you give me directions

What type of USB device are you trying to connect?

Plug the device in and then type 'dmesg' in a terminal. Somewhere near the very bottom of the output it'll mention a device node, like /dev/sda or something. Then you just mount a partition off that, etc:
Code:
mount -t vfat -o umask=000 /dev/sda1 /mnt/usb
Check out 'man mount' to find out all the details but that should get you started
