USB detection problem

Hi all,
Linux Mint 13 user here, I've a problem with usb detection - any usb device plugged in isn't detected.

lsusb:

Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 003 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

From what I've read it could be related with power saving option..

LM13 with xfce is running on an old Acer Aspire 3003LM.

Any ideas?
