USB compactflash device setup woes.

I'm trying to get a PNY USB compactflash card reader up and running on my Mandrake 8.2 box.

The USB viewer application detects it as a USB storage device, so I know there's some sort of communication happening.

I have a zero byte file named "0" in /proc/scsi/usb-storage-0 I suspect that this is my CF card reader.

This thread give instructions on what to do once I get a /dev/sda1 directory set up.

How do I create the /dev/sda1 directory and link it to my compactflash reader?

Should I have posted this in the hardware forum?

If so, would a moderator please move it there?
