Usb and ipod(rockbox)

SO hey everyone, im new to the forum and i couldnt quite find what i was looking for, so i figured i should ask.

Im on a macbook pro, with Snowlinux on it, in the E17 evironment. And right now im trying to put music on my ipod(rockbox, so it works just like a big flash drive) and take something off a flash drive. Unfortuently it gives me an error of "Unvalid Cross-Link Device" its nearly a fresh install, meaning i installed it and have used it for a few hours and installed like Clementine and VLC. Does anyone know what could be wrong, i have no idea what to do when it comes to usb devices, so any help would be much appreciated.

Filesystem format of ipod?

Maybe your ipod's HDD is formatted by a Microsoft filesystem? When you first setup your ipod, did you plug it into Windows or a Mac?

From http://download.rockbox.org/daily/ma...-buildch2.html ,

"File system format.
Rockbox only works on Ipods formatted with the FAT32 filesystem (i.e. Ipods initialised by Itunes for Windows). It does not work with the HFS+ filesystem (i.e. Ipods initialised by Itunes for the Mac). More information and instructions for converting an Ipod to FAT32 can be found on the IpodConversionToFAT32 wiki page on the Rockbox website. Note that after conversion, you can still use a FAT32 Ipod with a Mac."

Is your USB drive formatted fat32 as well?

Yes my Flashdrive is on Fat32, what should it be on? the gparted program lets me choose from a bunch, but the "mount" option never seems to be availible to click, i think that might be the problem.
