Rumor has it that I can find a driver for a winmodem to make it compatable with either Redhat 8 or Mandrake 9, is this true and where can I find it if so? I really want to use LInux again, but can't w/o net access...
Go to http://www.linmodems.org and download + run scanmodem utility. This will give you information about the chipset you have on your modem. Knowing the name of modem is not sufficient when you want to compile drivers for your modem. This will give you all the information about your modem, then you can go ahead and download the appropriate drivers.
