urpmi database locked....
 

Goeie dag all,
Trying to run the update on my newly conf Mandrake box but it keeps telling me "A fatal error occurred:urpmi database locked"
Can someone please tell me how I get rid of this??

Also any tips on making sure my box is save.....

This question is in some other thread around...
there the solution posted telled one to reboot the machinne.

I just found that all that is needed is to remove the following files:
/var/lib/urpmi/.RPMLOCK
/var/lib/urpmi/.LOCK

And you'll be ready to go.

hello everyone, this is my first thread.
i Keep on removing them and they just seem to pup back up.

i use

rm -f /var/lib/urpmi/.LOCK
rm -f /var/lib/urpmi/.RPMLOCK

IT GETS deleted... but then i try installing the RPM again and get the same error:
urpmi database blocked.

then when I go back to the file both .LOCK and .RPMLOCK are there.

Help please!!!
