url redirect to location

Hi,

In apache I want to redirect a local folder to a different server contents like below

RewriteRule /my/$ http://backup.server2.com/check/vali...ts=&new=server [R=301,L]

but above doesn't work , any input guys

To write redirect rule for your site, try this .htaccess file generator.
