Urgent! Server Reboots during boot up

This is my first Linux challenge. I am totally new to linux. Server reboots while detecting hardware. The server has three hdd in a raid 5 configuration. I suspect the raid card failed but I am not sure. I could just remove the raid card and then try to boot on just one of the raided hdds but I am afraid the system may not boot and I may lose valuable data doing that. Does anyone have ideas on how to get this system back running. I am using callax linux server. Thanks

Most linux distros have a failsafe boot mode. See if you can boot into that.

Do you not back up your data???? This is exactly why you need to back up your data so you can bring the system back up to working state without fear of losing data. I hate to say it, but if nobody is able to resolve your problem, then you learned your lesson the hard way.

Also try booting off of a live CD like Knoppix. Maybe it's just a driver issue or something. have you updated your kernel lately?

Does your RAID card have its own BIOS? A lot of them do and there's a key sequence yyou can press while the system is first booting to get into the RAID BIOS. If you can do that you could at least check if there was any problem with the RAID itself.

Totally agree with Micro420 regarding back-ups.
