Urgent, Need Tech Help!

Distro: Fedora Core 6

I was trying to use the CD that came with my motherboard to install the drivers for my on-board video card, in hopes that my resoloution could change in the future. Well, after I re-booted with the disk in, it asked about making a floppy diskette for the disk. I clicked no, took the disk out, and re-booted.

Well, eventually I came to the localhost login screen, and I tryed typing... and it didn't work. I've changed keyboards, and it all works until it starts booting up. I tryed running rescue disk, and that doesn't work either. The only thing that works is whenever I start up, hitting enter.

I need this help soon, please respond!

Nevermind. It started working again, but I haven't the slightest why it stopped.

In general, the manufacturer CDs usually just contain the Windows drivers. Depending on the particular hardware you're best off sticking with the stock Linux drivers orgetting Linux drivers from the manufacturer Web site. If you say what kind of video hardware you're using, someone here can probably advise you re getting a higher resolution.
