i managed to install Fedora Core 4 adn SuSe Linux and Windows XP all to run in harmony with each other!!
However i had a fiddle (oops) and deleted and created some partions.
Now i'm stumped.
The Grub Boot loader worked perfectly before!
Now when i turn on the computer i just get:
GNU GRUB Version 0.95 (640k lower/ 522688k upper memory)
[Minimal BASH-like line diting is supported. For the word TAB lists possible command completions. ANywhere else TAB lists the possible completions of a device file/filename}
GRUB> ""Then in can type""
It is just one of the black windows before an operation system has loaded.
I really need to run windows urgently?
Has anybody got any prompts how to?
Do i need to install a new boot loader from the windows disk?
Please don't mark your threads as "urgent" because all threads are given the same priorty by those who can help out.
Anyway did you delete the partition where grub was installed? At the moment what distributions do you have installed and on where are their root partitions located?
First, did you damage any of your OS partitions? If so, then you will probably have to reinstall that particular OS. If not, then it sounds like you simply need to reinstall GRUB. Are all of these operating systems on one hard drive, or are they spread across multiple drives?
If you install the Windows bootloader you will only be able to boot into a Windows OS. However since you seemed unable to mount any linux partitions, you might as well install the bootloader, retrieve your data, and reinstall your linux operating systems after you return.
If for some reason you find the need to get back to your Windows XP bootloader instead of the one installed by your Linux distro, simply follow these instructions:
